Intro
정확히 기억나지는 않지만, 99년인가 00년도에 서울 홍대에 ‘힙합 클럽’이 처음 등장을 하였는데, 그곳이 바로 왕년에 부비부비 좀 했던 사람들이라면 누구나 알고 있는 ‘NB(엔비)’다. 2000년대 초중반 미국에서는 과거 다소 과격하고 무거웠던 힙합 스타일이 신나는 비트와 멜로디가 섞여있는 ‘힙합+알앤비’ 대중적인 스타일로 트렌드로 바뀌고 있었고, 국내 역시 바로 이 힙합클럽 ‘엔비’를 시작으로 전국에 ‘클럽 힙합’이 유행을 타기 시작했다.
알만한 사람은 알고 있을 것이다. 희대의 짝짓기 예능 프로그램 ‘강호동의 천생연분’에서 [댄스 신고식] 고정 BGM이 무엇이었는지…..
쓸데없이 말이 좀 길어졌는데, 글쓴이는 취향이 좀 독특해서 무엇이든 유행 타는 걸 별로 좋아하지 않는다. 음악 취향 역시 주류 보다는 비주류의 취향을 가지고 있었는데, 힙합음악 중에서도 클럽 힙합 보다는 음지에서 Jazzy Hiphop(재즈힙합), Underground Hiphop(언더힙합)에 빠져있었다.
오늘 소개할 곡에서 피쳐링으로 참여한 Grap Luva(그랩루바) 형님을 처음 접했던 때가 바로 이쯤으로 기억한다. 당시 Sound Providers(사운드 프로바이더스), Dj Mitsu The Beats(디제이 미츄 더 비츠), Grooveman Spot(그루브맨 스팟), 그리고 지금은 고인이 된 Jujabes(누자베스)의 음악에 빠져있었는데, Grap Luva 형님이 위의 아티스트들 여러 곡에서 피쳐링으로 참여해 굉장한 Vibe를 선사해주었다.
정말 목소리 하나로 뭐든 씹어 먹을 수 있다는… 뭐랄까.. 이전에 포스팅 했었던 메쏘드 형님은 동네에서 알아주는 악동 느낌이었다면, 이 형님은 전화로 고민상담 해주는 심리치료사의 느낌이랄까….? 듣고있으면 뭔가 마음이 편해지는…아무튼 그런 느낌이다.
구구절절 말이 길었다. 아래 털보 형님을 주목해서 들어보자.
